… 4 jars of rich Coconut Milk, 1 1/2 jars of Virgin Coconut Oil, 500g of Shredded Coconut. Yes thats right, from one Coconut. We improved the preparation method which resulted in the greater yield of good stuff. We used boiling water to blend the Coconut flesh (you can keep it raw by using cold water, it just won’t be as creamy) then passed it through an unbleached dish cloth, squeezing out the excess moisture. We went with two experiments to get the Coconut Oil. 1: One of the jars of coconut milk went into the fridge and when the cream on top has solidified we can remove it, hopefully leaving the oil. 2: We boiled the left over fleshy husk for 10 minutes before straining into a jar, then into the fridge. Tomorrow morning we shall see which proved the best… until then, i highly recommend you make an hour free to save a lot of money (and a little bit of the planet).
