Hows about a refreshing, bright salad to lighten up all those delicious comfort meals that January demands? Immediately after taking a bite, Callum proclaimed that we must blog this. High praise indeed.

This salad is fresh, fresh, fresh with loads of awesome textures- crisp cabbage, sticky sultanas, crunchy gojis, creamy hemp hearts. And i think you’ll love the flavour combinations as much as we do. Ever so slightly sweet, just a tad bitter, totally refreshing.

As the title suggests, the stars of the show are the superfoods. Goji berries, hemp hearts and chia seeds contain heaps of health giving nutrients- amino acids, iron, vitamins, omegas, anti oxidants. You (i) could spend hours researching their fabulous qualities but to keep it short- they are the bees knees. One or all of them in your salads will add that extra level of goodness, adding to this they all add pretty groovy textures so its a win win.


I served this with a simple but mind blowingly addictive dressing of miso, maple and mustard- a mouth party was had.

So yes, this salad is great for lightening up a hearty supper but also a fantastic detox salad if thats your thing. Eat salad, live strong.

(Serves 2 salad goblins, or 4 as a side)

  • 1 bag of salad leaves (try to include spinach, kale is also awesome here)
  • 1/4 small Red Cabbage, very finely sliced
  • 3 Spring Onions, very finely sliced, at a fancy angle
  • handful of Sultanas
  • 1 tbsp Hemp Hearts
  • 2 tbsp Goji Berries, dried or rehydrated
  • 1/2 tsp Chia Seeds
  • zest of 1 Orange
  1. Combine all ingredients in a large salad bowl and use your hands to mix everything up good and proper
